Effect of AC/DC electrical fields on ZnO nanoparticles kinetics

Long-term electrokinetic processes affect the motion of different soil fractions mainly ionic-species in soil-type environments. Primarily, this governs direct (DC) and alternating (AC) electrical fields due to thermal, acid-base ion gradients generated close electrodes resulted electro-migration, electrophoresis, other electrolysis-related-processes. The migration metal ionic-species, including zinc, which occurs under DC field is generally acknowledged, but metal-corresponding nanoforms such as ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO-NP) low-level AC absent literature. aims research was analysis pressure-driven transport at two electric potentials; equipotential-voltage lines sand-media with ZnO-NP 1 V, 3 V (for DC), (1 kHz sinusoidal waves), detection Zn from anode-to-cathode area (DC), areas for pH changes within three-hours treatment X-ray diffraction investigation structural ZnO-NP. results showed that had more uniform pattern than both voltages applied. In addition, zinc concentrations up 11% electro-active substances were detected between Electrode compared 2 area. higher value also correlated only DC. no structure transformation ZnO-NP, deterioration relatively stable graphite appeared. Our confirmed potential electro-accelerated nanoparticle kinetics.
